Welcome to the Incipient College of St Kessog.

Welcome to the Incipient College of St Kessog, wherein you may step back in time to fight with chivalry, dance with grace, feast with gusto or pursue the divers activities that enriched the Middle Ages and Renaissance.

St Kessog is based at the University of Otago, Dunedin, in the South Island of New Zealand and is a branch of the international non-profit educational organisation, the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA).

The SCA is dedicated to the research and recreation of pre-17th century European history, with a particular focus on its practical applications in arts and sciences, including costuming, cooking, martial arts, dance, calligraphy and illumination, metalwork, archery, music and much, much more.

Regular Timetable of Events

The College of St Kessog holds regular meetings every Thursday between 12.30pm and 1.30pm in Room 5 at the Clubs and Societies buidling at the University of Otago.

Archery practice will also be held on Saturdays between 11am and 1pm in the Activities Hall of the Clubs and Socieites building at the University of Otago. Gold coin donation for entry.

Oyez! Oyez!

The Incipient College of St Kessog is proud to announce that we will celebrate Fimbulwinter. This event will take place on the 27-28th August. Join us to celebrate what little time we have left and to prepare for the war of Gods and Men! This event will be held at the Waiora Scout camp in North Taeri, Dunedin. For more information contact the event steward Myrun. More information will be posted as soon as it is available.

Who was St Kessog?

Before St Andrew, there was St Kessog, first patron saint of Scotland. His symbol of a bent bow signifies a readiness for action at all times, very appropriate for a warrior Celtic race. More on St Kessog here.
